As a part of this project, it was our group’s goal to raise supplies for as many underprivileged children in Tanzania as possible, so that they have the ability to go to school and gain an education. In this project, we collected and fundraised for school supplies including pencils, pens, erasers, and sharpeners. We collected these supplies throughout three neighbourhoods and fundraised by baking brownies and cookies. After this, we were able to make 50 bags and each bag had seven pencils, two erasers, one ruler, four pencil crayons, four markers, and two pens. Some of the activities that I will be continuing include being a math and English tutor, working with the children at the art gallery and being a part of cadets. Being a Math and English tutor has truly helped me learn more about myself and also the society that I live in. As I tutored the children, I realized the importance of learning and education in the world. I really enjoyed helping the children learn more about their education and truly understand the concepts that they had trouble in. I would like to continue tutoring the children on weekends and perhaps throughout the summer. Further, I would like to continue volunteering at the Surrey Arts Centre and this allows me to work with children and help them with arts and crafts. I would really enjoy working at the summer art camps this year as I really like working with children and allowing them to express themselves through art. Art is important in life as it allows individuals to express themselves in their own ways. I would like to get a job which involves working with children when I am older because this is something that makes me truly happy. Moreover, I am also continuing cadets as I really enjoy learning about citizenship and being able to work on my physical strength. Cadets has allowed me to develop my leadership activities through learning new skills such as, hiking
