Over the years, I have learned that growing up in a family business atmosphere has carved me to who I am today. Growing up, every semester break or public holiday, I would always attend to work at my father's pizzeria to help out and learn about the business. I have learned that managing is all about coping with diversity and complexity. As I grew older, I was given a managerial role of being a supervisor at work. Being the eldest daughter in the family, my father placed a big responsibility on me to learn inside and outside of the business. From making pizzas and serving customers to emailing and meeting overseas distributors. Since I was young, I’ve always envisioned myself following the footsteps of my father. After I graduated from high-school, I decided to take a business course to get my qualifications. I believe I want to be a …show more content…
When I was working at my father's pizzeria, my father treats me indifferently from other workers and I had to work twice as hard as everyone else. I learned how to get things done effectively and efficiently. Therefore, I am extremely appreciative for my father’s entrepreneurial path, which has given me an abundance of work insight that no university degree or textbook could ever offer. Being brought up in a family business has taught me a lot of important lessons which always stay with me and will guide me in the future through good and bad times.
In conclusion, I believe I want to be a manager as I am very passionate about business management. My qualifications and work experience will be very valuable in leading the team towards greater achievements. The leadership and managerial skills that I have acquired during my work experience will contribute tremendously in my future career. In the future, I would like to acquire more managerial skills such as technical skills and political skills (Katz, 1974) that will help in making me a good
