According to Smarter Measure assessment, the general summary for assessment indicates that certain life factors are barriers to my continuation of further education. When it comes to life factors, my most concerned areas are time and academic skills. They are at a very low levels of 35% and 40% respectively.

TMA 07: Critical Review AA100 The Arts Past and Present was my first module with the Open University which has been a massive learning curve both in studying and being disciplined with my time to study. Over the months of studying there have been modules which I assumed I would thoroughly enjoy and modules which I assumed I would dislike, however this thinking has turned out to be the complete opposite. Use of my study time is something that I have found challenging at times as the modules have progressed and increased in difficulty. I have also found that you need to be especially self-motived and disciplined when completing each module.…

I honestly only have one activity that takes up my time ... which is watching television. Sometimes it is undoubtedly a doubt a vast distraction, which places a temporary hold on whatever I am working on or whatever needs to be done at that time. One tool I have mastered is called multitasking, I can simply just listen and still remain focused on what Is being done. Of course it's not the best, but the method works swell for me. Now if it's a quiz, test or something that's truly stumping me, I will ultimately pause the television to gain complete focus.…

One other obstacle I see in the future is not volunteering and making my brand known. A solution to this would be updating my resume with volunteer work and find those people that can help get connections within my community.…

As a person who is going to be a first generation college student, my journey towards obtaining a higher education has been challenging to say the least. Neither my father or mother finished high school, but when I was very young, my mother, who struggled with alcoholism, left my father and I, and he has raised me by himself ever since. Over the course of my childhood, my father did everything in his power to make ends meet through working long hours and multiple jobs so that I could have the opportunities that he never had. Because of this, at an early age I learned to do without certain things and when I was old enough, I got a job of my own to help provide for myself and my father. As a result of these things, sometimes it was difficult to do well in school and other activities, but I always found a way to succeed through diligence and time management skills.…

The Value of Good Time Management Skills Some aspects of life cannot be classified with a numerical rate, such as the value of good time management skills. Although this is true, most would agree that being able to manage time is a dynamic skill and extremely important. As stated by Ronald G. Leach (1980), “There is no such thing as lack of time. When I first began this class I thought that this would be just another introductory class that is required to orient you to the expectations of the particular college. Now, after completing this class, I know that this is not the case. Personal Dimensions of Learning has been a great help, not only to my school work, but also in my daily life. Before taking this class, I thought that learning, and completing daily tasks, were mostly memorizing the order of the way things are supposed to be done and just completing the task. I never liked this strategy, but it always seemed to be the most convenient way to get things done at school, home, and work.…
