Jack St. Claire Kilby Jack St. Claire Kilby was born on November 8th, 1923 in Jefferson City but later moved to Salina, Kansas and then to Great Bend, Kansas. His father ran an electric company called Kansas Power. At a young age, Jack learned to love electronics when he was first introduced to Amateur radios. During summertime, he would help his father clean oil tanks, and steam generators. He had a great interest in engineering. Jack Kilby had attended the University of Illinois and majored in engineering. He had graduated in the year 1947. He also got his masters degree in electrical engineering at the University of Wisconsin. After Jack Kilby had graduated he joined the Centralab Division of Global Union Inc. From 1978 to 1984 he was
