We talked about the importance of live-ness in respect to a performance. Our tutor, Estela’s example inspired me to think about this question “what if all the audience are stationary and we replace the live performance with a CD player and we played the same song, would that still be regarded as a performance?” The answer is simply no; the liveliness of the performance is very crucial, without Jimi Hendrix on stage I will have seen the actions, and will not be able to experience this sense of desperation and eagerness that he convey in this song.
