After being thrown out by her mom, Vicky moves in her teacher, Maggie Jones. Due to abuse from Maggie’s father, Vicky is forced to move onto a farm with two isolated brothers, the McPherons. Vicky, as anyone would be, was resistant to her new living condition, but once she got comfortable, she found her place, cooking and taking on the house care. Though it was awkward at first, Vicky made it work creating a relationship with these two brothers resembling that of a daughter with her father, which not only benefited her and her unborn daughter, but blessed the brothers lives as well. Though I strive to persevere through any struggle like Vicky, I do not deal with change well. My response to this situation would have been completely different and harmful to the brothers and myself. Scared with no one to turn too, she desperately needs a savior, thought they weren’t her first choices, Vicky made the best out of a bleak situation. The fact that she was able to adjust to her situation and bless the lives of those around her the way she did shows tremendous strength and makes me respect her that much more.
My struggles and the way I would handle a certain situation are different then Vicky’s. But, she is strong, she perseveres through whatever life throws at her. That is why I resonate with her, not because of specific actions, but because at the end of the day she is going to find a way to succeed. Whether
