His birth name is Kim Hyun Joong. He was a smart student at school, it could be proved by his achievement in junior high school where he was the 4th highest score achiever at his school. He knew his passion in singing since he was young; he formed boyband when he was in high school.

He stopped attending high school due to his desire to pursue his dream. At that time, he only received 10,000 won as pocket money from his parents. He was independent teenager, where he did not rely on his parents’ support, he worked as part timer instead. His music career started since then, he and his band performed in many events. Before becoming a member of boyband 22051, he was a trainee singer.

Experiencing various kinds of works and started working since early age built him into a good money saver. He saved about more than 300 million won from what he earned from the trainee and used the money to support his brother’s education in the

Young Hyun Joong was into singing and dancing. He is used to see many singing performance as his family lived close to Olympic Park Songpa Gu. He was once lost in the park where he was then found nearby the stage, watching the singer performing.

Kim Hyun Joong has a baby from his ex girlfriend, Ms. Choi in 2015. The confirmation of him being the biological father of the baby was through DNA test.

Expanding the market to outside South Korea, the boyband penetrated Japan entertainment industry in 2007. They published their first Japanese single called Kokoro.
