The Knights Of The Round Table were King Arthurs protectors. They were men of courage, honor, dignity, courtesy, and nobleness. They protected ladies and damsels, honored and fought for kings, and undertook dangerous quests. The first knight at the table was named Lancelot. Lancelot is the son of King Ban and a woman named Elaine. But Lancelot wasn’t as honorable as people said he was. Lancelot spends a lot of time proving he is a good knight, and when he arrives to King Arthur's court he falls in love with King Arthur's wife, Guinevere. Guinevere does not at first respond to Lancelot's advances, but eventually gives in to his request. Another Knight of the Round table is Gawain. Gawain is generally said to be the nephew of Arthur. His parents were Lot of Orkney and Morgause. In the English tradition Gawain is more known to be the principal hero and the exemplar of courtesy and chivalry. After Sir Geraint’s wife died he spent much time at King Arthur’s Court looking for action and adventure. Sir Geraint gave Sir Yniol all of his possessions back and then married his daughter.

Sir Gareth was the youngest brother of Sir Gawain and the son of Lot and Morgause of Orkney. He played a big role in Malory's Le Morte d'Arthur. It presents Sir Gareth as an exemplat of chivalry who is knighted by and devoted to Sir Lancelot.

Sir Gaheris was the son of King Lot of Orkney and his wife Morgause, who was the sister of King Arthur. Sir Gaheris Married Lynette the same day his brother Gareth married Lynette’s sister ,Dame Lionesse. Both brothers were killed in the trouble following the rescue of Queen Guinevere from the fire, but this was an accident as Sir Lancelot didn’t recognize them in the crowed.
