One can be knowledgeable without being wise. Knowledge is knowing how to use a gun; wisdom is knowing when to use it and when to keep it holstered. Wisdom comes from experience but isn’t the true source of wisdom. In the Bible, Solomon wrote that “wisdom is like the protection of money, and the advantage of knowledge is that wisdom preserves the life of him who has it” (Prov 7:12) and “Wisdom gives strength to the wise man more than ten rulers who are in a city” (Prov 7:19) Wisdom leads one into the path of righteousness. Wisdom is obedience and obedience leads to righteousness.
Wisdom will take you further than knowledge because there is danger in having knowledge without wisdom. If you don’t have wisdom that goes with knowledge, you are only a walking encyclopedia. A book of knowledge is useless without the wisdom to know how to apply that knowledge.
