“Entrance”- Matthew McConaughey in the Lincoln Continental advertisement. The advertisement appeared on the NBC network.
The advertisement starts off with immense clouds filling up the sky. The reflection of the clouds can be seen in the beautiful shallow waters. The logical appeal that I see is that Matthew McConaughey is driving the Lincoln Continental everyone else should drive it too. He’s a celebrity and everyone wants to have a little piece of a celebrity. I don’t think there are any emotional appeals in this advertisement. The one I see is that everyone has some sort of emotional appeal towards Matthew McConaughey so that might convince a few people to buy the car.
A target audience I believe would be young males because they would think they might look good driving a Lincoln and they would feel good about it. Maybe even older males, they might think that driving a Lincoln might help them look younger. Both young and older males might buy this car because it will attract people’s attention and because it will make them look good no matter their own looks. Another target audience might be young females or females in general because females want the newest most luxurious things on the market. And this Lincoln has a lot of luxury for the taste of the young female or any female. Also, because they would show of their new Lincoln to everyone and they would feel better than everyone else because their car is much better and because it has so much potential. And, because McConaughey is driving the car and young females (pretty much every female) likes Matthew
