Instead as a teacher I can include in my classroom engaging activities so my students will have the motivation to learn and thus the motivation to succeed. Also I can use some of the strategies that Fisher and Ivey stated in my classroom which includes reading, writing, discussing viewing should play a bigger role than an actual lecture. I am currently a senior in college I have one class, this class Reading 380, to go before I start my students teaching. Therefore in my content area classes I am done with but I do feel like I have much more to learn and I hoping I can learn from student teaching. No teacher will ever teach you everything you will need to know but as I grow in my teaching I will gain the knowledge I need to become a successful teacher. Overall the article, article Literacy and Language as Learning in Content-Area Classes: A Departure From "Every Teacher a Teacher of Reading" has helped me understand the importance of literacy in all content and in all content there is literacy.
