My mum has always been telling me stories about the historical Rancho Los Alamitos place .I wasn’t lucky enough to visit this phenomenal and historical place .Until I took advantage of my History assignment and I decided to visit rancho los Alamitos in a family gathering. On a Friday morning we took the chance and we decided to explore and touch Rancho Los Alamitos .Once we arrived at rancho we were kindly and sincerely welcomed by the prestigious volunteers, who are volunteering in Rancho Los Alamitos .The lady standing in the reception of Rancho los Alamitos warmly welcomed us. This room shows the sequence of historic events that took place ion Rancho Los Alamitos. It shows that this rancho goes to the 500 A.D when Tongava came in .. By the year 1796 the rancho was owned by Portola the king of Spain. Later on the ownership of the rancho was transferred to Manuel Neito, where at this time the rancho was about 300,000 acres of land. As the time passed there was significant changes that took place in the rancho by the year 1804 Juan Neito added the adobe to the rancho, which is the house where the Bixby family lived. The Year 1823 had a significant changes in the rancho, when the Rancho was divided into five great ranchos Rancho Los Cerritos, Santa Gertrudes , Las Bolsas, Palo Alto and finally Rancho Los Alamitos. After this time Rancho Los Alamitos had several owners. The last and the most important all the owners of the Ranch was the Bixby family. In the year 1881 John and Susan Bixby bought the Ranch. The area was called the Bixby hill after the Bixby Family. The Bixby are responsible for a lot of the major changes that took place in the ranch. The Bixby family were the main contributors to let the electricity get into the ranch. Finally the Bixby Family donated the ranch to Long Beach
