It didn't matter that, yes, at the time Naru and his team were dealing with a dangerous case and, yes, they did have to send people to the hospital many times and, yes, they did seriously consider leaving the place and, yes, the place might have burned down because of the ghost, but that was no excuse. No one forgets to call Luella on her birthday, especially her own son.
Now it did cross her mind once that she was overreacting. Even she had to admit a phone call could do the job. But that wasn't the point.
