Because he bound the Fiend, now his minions want revenge. Tom had many treacherous tasks he had to face, but one of the most difficult for him was leaving his master when he was in great pain. As said by Thomas “The thought of my master suffering like that was unbearable-he was enduring such terrible pain. However, my duty was clear: I had to leave him for now. How could I possibly decisive Grimalkin and lure her here, allowing the Fiend’s head to fall into the hands of the strigoica and her her allies? It must be kept away from them. (Pg 166). In this situation Tom was faced with a pretty tough moral decision, does help help the person he has a strong connection to, which would possibly put the lives of many at risk, or does he let his master suffer. The second big problem Tom had to face, is when the demons attempt to release the most powerful Romanian god Siscoi. As said by Judd an expert on Romanian gods and demons, “‘ They might just want to worship him. In return, he’ll give them power. But they’ve already tried to pressure you into bringing Grimalkin here. They want the Fiend’s head badly. Siscoi is fast and once in the flesh can cover great distances rapidly. He might go after Grimalkin himself. After that, you might be second on his list.’” (Pg 218). In other words Judd is saying that if successful in summoning Siscoi, he would at some point go after …show more content…
Tom is soon going to have to do all the work because his master is getting too weak to do many of the required skills needed to be a Spook and he is dreading that day. As said by Tom “My master spends a lot of time sitting in his garden. He looks older, and the whole of his beard is white. He reminds me of the old men I saw as a boy-the ones who used to sit around the market square in Topley village. They seemed to have withdrawn from life and were waiting for death, just content to observe and remember. I think John Gregory is also waiting to die, and that saddens me. It is one more burden I have to carry.” (Pg 415). Tom’s point is that even though it may be hard now, it will only get harder from here as John Gregory only has a year or two

I enjoyed reading this story as I have a weakness for romance novels and I feel this played as one. As the story begins a valley is described that is quiet, has animals, and people. This valley being called the Sleepy Hallows and the boys of this valley being called the sleepy hallow boys. The valley has witchcraft within it as previous events by an Indian chief. The witchcraft in valley influences the people as the text states “the place still continues under the sway of some witching power, that holds a spell over the minds of the good people, causing them to walk in a continual reverie.”…

To begin this argument, people who enjoy horror films support that watching horror gives them a chance to learn, to experience situations. In an article “The Lure of Horror” published in November 2011, Dr. Christian Jarrett is the Psychologist’s staff journalist mentioned “Movie monsters provide us with the opportunity to see and learn strategies of coping with real- life monsters should we run into them, despite all probabilities to the contrary“. Dr. Jarret explained that horror scenes give people a chance to face with situations that may happen in real life so that people can handle situations or run away instead of standing and screaming. Similarly, Mathias Clasen says, “ That’s where horror can teach us something truly valuable” (Jarrett…

Twisted Seduction After reading John Keats “Ode on a Grecian Urn” (782), the one theme that kept coming back to me was that the poem was being sensual. The narrator used words such as “ravished, wild ecstasy and sensual ear.” Imagine walking in on a man who is intimately examining a car and just by watching him it makes you uncomfortable. The poem reminded me of the show “My Strange Addiction” on TLC, particularly an episode in which a man gets sexually aroused by his car.…
