I decided long ago I would avoid conforming in order to be true to the natural person I am. Over time, my happiness, and self confidence had increased. Life began to have a deeper meaning to it, because I saw things my way, and did not conform to the way society usually thinks. This is significant because if I were to conform, I would no longer be a unique individual. I do not want to be similar to everybody else, because it takes away from standing out to the universe. Humans were created as one person, because they were meant to be the only version themselves. As a result, conforming can cause one to forget the person they individually were destined to be. Many of the most brilliant people of the world were non-conformists such as Harriet Tubman, an African-American abolitionist; Oscar Wilde, a mind blowing writer; Bell Hooks, a feminist, activist, and scholar; and Frida Kahlo, an extraordinary painter who defies classification. These people changed the world and influenced great things because of their non-conformity. This shows the readers that being who you are and not conforming can give you so much self inflicted brain power to do unique and wonderful things to contribute to such a indistinguishable society.
