Hypothesis: The increased use and availability in MRI imaging has increased the cost in MRI imaging procedures by approximately 33 percent from 2011 to 2013.
In an attempt to identify the connection between increased use of MRI procedures and rise in cost, we will examine the MN 2013 imaging procedure data. Variables of this data include the availability of imaging, imaging procedure cost, and imaging equipment. In viewing the data sets, we can see that there is a rise in data …show more content…
An equal number of each gender should have been collected, because absolute imaging rates differ by sex. Also, there was a gap by only collecting and analyzing data from Group Health and not collecting data from other locations which may report different data. My research can inform the literature and health care delivery to use different facility types from different locations to help eliminate bias, and to show the data is more credible, accurate, and valid. To emphasize again with the increased use of MRI’s Computed tomography (CT), Ultrasounds and others diagnostic imaging testing the study based on the rising increase health care costs due to the increased use of diagnostic imaging equipment. More compelling evidence will show the increased use of medical imaging in the research having viewed as a source with relevant data, an analysis a sample of patients chart they investigated the emergency room department (ER) or (ED) as a related avenue that was necessary due to life-threatening conditions and patient disposition in the ER (Korley, Pham, & Kirsch, …show more content…
More compelling evidence was used between 1996 and 2002, showing the hospital costs at the institution steadily rose at an average rate of 7.8% per year (Beinfeld & Gazelle, 2005). Over the years, CT imaging went from $975 million to $2171 million doublings over a 7 year period. The study, based on the use of six drugs with the study showing a connection to the drug and the study. In the database, relative value units are assigned to each product or service to reflect the time and/or complexity and are updated annually (Beinfeld & Gazelle, 2005). Another key point about the study is that then analyzes were performed by using computer software, like Excel, Access. The increases in imaging studies have led to closer scrutiny of their clinical value and based on electronic medical records generated system showed a random effect of diagnostic testing (Goldzweig, et al.,
