Shoes havent been a huge part of my life to this point but they have impacted me to this day. I used to have passion for shoes but as i grew up but i lost that feeling i had in wearing shoes. The first pair i bought were for basketball similar to Young Mack from Wings. When i stopped playing basketball, shoes didnt impact me from that day on, after that i never cared about how special the shoes are to me. The tone of the song was excited at first then turned gloomy and sad. The theme of the song was, often times when people realize that materialistic objects are just normal, it can save you from alot of trouble. In Wings, Young Mack had a passion for shoes because of basketball and his exclusivity but towards the end he realizes that its all normal shoes. In the song Mack states, “I want to fly.” This shows his expectaions and how he is thinking to get to the top. When reality hits him he looses all hope of his expectaions as stated, “I bought these dreams that all fall down.” Young Mack living in his time felt alot of struggle to succeed due to his surroundings.
