Maintaining Healthy Relationships

Relationships need to be maintain and a healthy relationship requires work which should provide plenty of happiness than stress in your life (Hall Health.., 2014). A psychologist named Carl Rogers identifies the Five characteristics of a health relationship as honesty, sensitivity, open-minded, respect for autonomy and rhythm (Manning, Curtis, McMillen, & Attenweiler, 2011). However, all relationships possess the characteristics are current in a successful relationship.
Honesty consist of trust from both individuals to provide full self-disclosure of their feelings, for instance, fear, guilt, resentment, and worry of being themselves (Manning, Curtis, McMillen, & Attenweiler, 2011). With this strong connection between both individuals, they can express what they want and need efficiently without judgment. Furthermore, trust and be honest to one another by communicating about one’s past, present, or future, regardless of the consequences. Being sensitive to one another demonstrates the love which is shared emotionally. A fulfilling relationship counts on the willingness of both people to understand the other person’s emotions and experiences (Manning, Curtis, McMillen, & Attenweiler, 2011). Therefore, it can be achieved by having the desire to know how the other individual feels and to comprehend with the person needs.
