Mair Observation Of Children In The Classroom

Maira- During free play Maira spent a lot of her time coloring at the art table. She used the stencils and traced various animals on her paper and then filled them in with detail and color. She held up her paper and said, I wrote my name look.

Yahaira/Jozef- During areas in the classroom the children played in the manipulative center where they played with the counting pegs. They had to read the number on the block and place the correct number of pegs. They both counted out loud together after they added are the pegs to the block.

Obaid, Nourseen, Davian- During afternoon play the children played on the computer all together. They listen to several animal stories and communicated with one another every time someone was not sharing the computer.

They practiced rolling the balls both overhand and underhand to each other. Also, they rolled the ball down on the floor rolling it back and forth.

All- While playing at the gym the children played with the balls ricking them to each other. Some children placed the ball on the floor and then used their foot to kick the ball. Other children held their leg straight out and kicked the ball while others bent their legs.

All- While the children played at the gym they placed with the hula hoops. The children took their hula hoop and roll it to the other side of the gym by using one hand to push the hula hoop. The children ran after the hula hoop seeing if they could catch it before the hula hoop stopped.

Zakaraya- During group time Zakaraya was playing with another child on the carpet instead of listening to the teacher. I redirected him to sit somewhere else where it would be easier to pay attention with fewer distractions. Zakaraya got up from his seat and he sat down on the carpet where he listened for group time.

All (morning children)- During small groups the children practiced their letter writing. The practiced grabbing their pencils correctly using a pincer grip. I helped each child as needed and the children worked on writing the letters in their
