The is a song that every one of us can reflect on. It has a message that change starts with yourself. In this day and age, where problems such as endangered species, global warming and pollution is blamed on humanity. It teaches us that to change the world, we must do our part first. I believe that the artist was trying to teach us in a song, that to change something you must look at the ‘Man in the Mirror’. This means to reflect on yourself, to see what you could have done better, to make the world a better place. The songwriter crafted this song in such a way,that the person who is listening to the song is involuntary narrating these lyrics. The narrator in this song is none other than yourself. The songwriter makes you the narrator of the song, so that only you-yourself can make a change. ‘I see the kids in the street, with not enough to eat, who am I , to be blind pretending not to see their needs’- the narration of this song shows you the sad things that happen using your own eyes.
