“Me facing Life: Cyntoia’s Story” is a documentary about a little girl sentenced to life for a murder that she committed when she was sixteen years old. At a young age Cyntoia’s biological mother gave her to a foster mother and father. Growing up she was always being judged by her mother, she wanted her to grow up being perfect like her sister with no problems. She was abused by her father and was then introduced to prostitution as a get away from her problems. Cyntoia never came around to telling people who loved her about what was going on in her life because she did not want to be judged. If it was a white female that did what Cyntoia did, I believe they would have let her off and would have took her situations into consideration. As you can see she was considered a delinquent child, but that is not the reason of her action in my opinion. She acted in other ways to show her delinquency like not being home or getting involved with prostitution at a young age. She was not the type of child to just go off and murder someone she just wanted to get away. She was forced to do many things as a young child, so when she felt like her life was being threatened she reacted in such a way that many people can possibly relate to. This young female could have had freedom if she was not who she was. Every child can be considered as some type of delinquent, but hers just happened to be a little more extreme. Her past and family background had a part in her actions; however I believe that it could have been easily fixed. She was a good child that lived a horrible childhood and now she is facing life in prison for protecting
