Middle School Years Research Paper

Every single person in this world is different. There is not another you in this world. Who you are and what you do are what makes you unique. I learned this during my middle school years. Well I learned it before, but I finally got a glimpse of what it really meant in my middle school years. As for my extended family in Mexico, I have noticed that we are different in some ways. As I have gone to school, I have already chosen what I plan to do and what my future will be. My family has traditions that tend to void any plans for my future. The only kind of family belief that I have ever known is my own. My parents have always allowed me to follow my interests. Whether it is gaming, medicine, or playing soccer, my parents have never denied me the opportunity to pursue these passions. They …show more content…
My father did not raise me with the same belief he and his siblings grew up with. He did not finish high school because he believed that one was just a number and that grades did not matter. This is where he and I collide. He believes that you can make something of yourself without an education. I agree, but it is made much simpler if you have an education. He has managed to pull it off by working since a very young age. Another example would be my extended family in San Luis, who have the same belief as my father. They were a big part of my family. Although I made a couple of visits as a kid, I did not get to know them better until I got older. I noticed that the way my aunt and uncle talked about their children’s education was different from the beliefs that my parents had. They had all decided to stay in a little city to work in their home business. My aunt had started a tortilla shop with my grandmother when she was a teenager. She has managed it ever since. She allowed her children to attend school and participate in their passions, but they would have to work with her after high

My grandparents were originally from New Mexico, my grandpa Marcelino was born in a small town called Mora and my grandma Mary was born in an even smaller town called Anton Chico. I am not sure when my grandparents moved to Pueblo, but I do know that they lived in a small house on Elm Street in Bessemer as my grandpa worked as a steelworker for CF&I. In 1962, my grandparents purchased nine acres of land out in the county on Ford Road, where they built a decent sized three-bedroom home with a basement and a five car detached garage for themselves and their seven children. They became farmers and continued to grow their family with 22 grandkids, 37 great grandkids, and six great, great grandkids. Safe to say, I grew up with plenty of aunts, uncles, and cousins around. My parents, Harold and Cynthia Lopez had been just 18 when I was born and three months later they were married.…

For the past five summers, I’ve worked at a summer camp as a counselor. I met a wide range of people, from underprivileged children to knowledgeable college students. Not only did I teach campers how to make ice cream and friendship bracelets, I made lifelong connections with many of the other counselors. Camp is where I learned what it meant to be part of a supportive community. Although most of us only see each other during summer, it’s an amazing feeling to come back to such a devoted group of people and work together doing what we…

This topic is not an unusual topic. In fact, this is a topic that will help me decide on what college I will go to and attend in my future. My topic is The Citadel military College of the South or its only other competitor Norwich University. It does not necessarily matter where I attend school because no matter where I go I will be enrolled in the ROTC program at either school. In this research paper the items that I will be talking about are things that I have learned from either being talked to about or that I have read online about the colleges.…

Although every grade level deems difficult, I believe that 9th grade is the hardest grade because of the grueling effects of low self-esteem, pressure and worry that every student must bear among the already heavy load of their school frets during freshman year. To begin with, low self-esteem can truly deprive a student’s drive to excel in the future. I think this because occasionally, when a student is held back a grade during their first year, they can suffer from a sort of mental inhibition, and feel as if they are an outcast stranded in a see of anonymous strangers. Therefore, that student could feel as if they are unwelcome and decide that it’s better off if they just drop out instead of dealing with the uncertainty of a different crowd.…
