Maybe that was why Midoryia was able to rationalize and think calmly about the situation. His mind was calmly turning its gears, trying to find a way out.
If he were a normal person, there'd be no doubt he wouldn't be able to act nor think calmly.

"W-what're you talking about?"
A laugh echoed in the room, the figure stepping forward until they stopped in front of Midoryia. "You'll see... but for that... you can't sleep."
Midoryia squirmed in the ropes that tied him to his chair. "S-shigaraki..." Midoryia breathed out in a whimper. "W-wha-"
A calloused hand reached out and grabbed Midoryia's chin with four fingers, jerking his head up to look Shigaraki in the eyes. "Shut up." Shigaraki spat before releasing Midoryia's chin and stepping around behind him.
Midoryia felt the ropes around him tighten for a moment before falling off around him. Before he could question anything, he felt Shigaraki's cold fingers slither around the back of his neck. "Don't try anything and you'll be fine. Now walk forward."
Midoryia resisted the urge to nervously gulp, taking slow steps forward. He walk for a bit, following any directions Shigaraki gives him. Eventually they come to a dark hallway with a door at the end.
Shigaraki pushed him toward the door. "Open it and go in."
Midoryia reached out and reluctantly gripped the door knob, twisting it before pushing it open. It opened slowly and ominously with a creak and groan, the darkness inside hiding everything in
