I am an Army soldier. I have been in the military for the past 16 years. When I first joined the military you did not need education to get promoted. The military has changed a lot in the past few years and now you need college to get promoted to any ranks. If you are in the military, you can check the After Action Review (AAR) after the previous boards to see what the board members are looking at. The number one thing they are looking at in education. I know that I am starting my education late in my military career. I am thinking of the future after the military. I did not like school at all but my wife and myself want to start our business after I retire from the military. I would like to get my degree before we start our business so I know what I need to do.
I went through our education center to discuss schools option. You can earn a degree faster if you are in the military because Excelsior College uses your military education and transfer them to civilian education. After sitting down with eight different school I decided to go with Excelsior College because they had the degree I needed to start my own business. They support the troops. They want to help soldiers succeed. The counselors are helpful and professor always trying to help you. One of the advantage of joining Excelsior College is it is all on line courses. If you are in upstate, you can attend class on campus too. Being in the military it is always easier to do online classes due to our schedule. Since I joined Excelsior College, I have some soldiers asking me about the it. I have explained it to them that it is a very military friendly college. Since I have started college I have 10 soldiers that have joined Excelsior College too.
