This is why I believe that the age to make your own legal medical decision should be before one turns 18 so that In the case there are no parents or guardians present a child can make their own decision. This hypothetical situation could become real very fast in the case of a plane/ car crash, a murder or any number of different things that could happen to a person’s parents. This could even happen if one does not reside with their parents due to arguments etc. In these situations these people will most likely still need medical treatment if something is not right.…

I feel if a minor becomes pregnant, in some cases it would be more helpful if an authority figure knew and could be supportive, but all in all the minor would have the decision whether she wants an abortion or…

Discussions about the age of consent laws are not common but it is important to show the truth about how these laws affect a modern generation of underage teenagers. Most adults think of teenagers as unable to give their consent to have sex and although there are safety risks for unprepared teens, lowering the age of consent in California from eighteen years to sixteen would benefit the teenagers and the state in the long run. In order to lower the age of consent, it is crucial to first understand the laws, give teenagers proper sex education and take a look at how it affects everyone and how the potential changes could improve the lives of teenagers. On the other hand, changing the age of consent laws could mean trouble for the unprepared…

Legal consent must be given prior to the death of a person before any medical use of that person's organs can be done, in sexual intercourse, and to undergo treatment.…

Personally I believe that teens should have the option to make their own medical choices. I believe this because by allowing adolescents to make their own decisions we are allowing them to take responsibility for their lives, we are providing them with a learning experience, and it is believed to cause a positive response emotionally for teens. Learning is a major reason why teens should be able to make their own medical decisions. It is believed that by allowing adolescents to make mature choices they are being able to learn how to take responsibility for their lives. “there’s no time like the present to begin encouraging teens to take on leadership roles in all aspects of everyday life - and health care…
