The Word of God says, “Study to show yourself approved unto God, a workman that needs not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth” 2 Timothy 2: 15. The Word of God is God’s wisdom. The more of God’s Word you have in your spirit, the more of His wisdom you would have working in your life. And the best way you can have so much of God’s Word in your spirit is by daily studying your Bible. Mind you, I said ‘daily studying your Bible’ and not reading your Bible. There is a big different between the two statements. To study means you spend time learning about a particular topic or topics to know God’s mind about them. On the other hand, you read to just know what the topic is about for yourself and not necessarily the mind of God concerning it.
One of the benefits of studying the Word of God for yourself as a Christian mother is that the Word will grant you wisdom. All the wisdom you require to be a great mother; lovely wife; a good Christian woman and to deal wisely in the affairs of life are all encapsulated in the Word of God. The Spirit of God says you would be able to rightly divide the word of truth when you study the Word. Therefore, studying the Word cannot be overemphasized for any

The Bible records how she had invited Prophet Elisha over for a meal and afterwards convince her husband on the need for them to build and furnish a room for him to always stay whenever he is in town. ”She said to her husband, "See now, I perceive that this is a holy man of God that passes by us continually. Please let us make a little room on the wall. Let us set for him there a bed, a table, a chair, and a lamp stand. It shall be, when he comes to us, that he shall turn in there” 2 Kings 4: 9 – 10. Her act of kindness made Prophet Elisha declare her childless condition to turn around. “About this time next year," Elisha said, "you will hold a son in your arms…” 2 Kings 4: 16a. And even when the child was born and afterwards died, her kindness caused Prophet Elisha to come resuscitate the child back to

I relate to Fil Anderson when he said he read the Bible to support his own interests and desires. He read and listened to what he wanted to hear and picked and chose parts in the Bible that he liked. This resignates with me - It’s so easy to do! But I have learnt from reading this that God wants us to read the Bible with open ears to listen to him and allow him to transform our lives. Now before I have my quiet time I am going to pray, “Lord, right now as I read your Word, will you take this time to speak to me about how I can grow more like you, will you convict me, and transform my life.…

As Michael Brown states in What They Don’t Tell you: A Survivor’s Guide to Biblical Studies: a Bible study focuses more on helping people to either understand what God wants in their life or how to be a better Christian. Sometimes Bible study helps solidify theological beliefs, or to develop new theological beliefs. As Brown stated, Bible study is often more of a mid week worship than a scholarly breakdown of the Bible. On the other hand, Biblical study differs from Sunday School because you study more than just the Bible itself. You study the historical context, such as the political climate, economics of the time, laws of the time, etc.…

“The natural state of motherhood is unselfishness. When you become a mother, you are no longer the center of your own universe. You relinquish that position to your children”(Brainyquote) said Jessica Lange. This quote depicts the role of motherhood and what it really should be,it make the role of a mother intelligible: to cherish and care for one’s child, but also to put one’s needs after their own child to let their child be a child. “No woman can call herself free who does not own and control her own body. No woman can call herself free until she can choose consciously whether she will or will not be a mother.” (Lader, 18) This quote by Margaret Sanger shows the opinion of the Pro-Choice stance on Abortion. In order to understand the Pro-Choice stance on abortion completely, it’s necessary to examine how an abortion affects a mother’s education and career, a child’s survivability, a mother’s health, and the definition of personhood.…

In the early 20th century, abortion was illegal, and it was punishable with jail time. Since 1973, the supreme court in Roe v. Wade established that abortion is a women’s right.…

Cows, for the most part, have been perceived as innocent creatures throughout the centuries. In various judicial systems, humans, too, are thought to be innocent until proven guilty. As history has shown on many occasions during times of war, innocent people are killed needlessly. In “A Mother’s Tale”, written by James Agee, a mother cow warns her cattle of the gruesome deeds inflicted upon cattle who travel out onto the range through the telling of the tale of the One Who Came Back. The One Who Came Back went through numerous trials, such as the denial of basic necessities and the sensation of being skinned alive, when he was chosen to ‘retire’ on the range.…
