I want to be a member of the Matoaca National Junior Honor Society because I believe it will be able to help motivate me. Although I find that I am NJHS material, I think that this will be able to help me know that I am working for something, and thereby make it more urgent to do good. For example, my time in Scouts has shown me the importance of setting goals. When I discovered that new requirements would be forced on you if you didn’t complete them by the end of the year, I began buckling down on my and others requirements (as assistant patrol leader, I am supposed to help my patrol members.) Whereas my campfire plans were extremely rushed, simply because I didn’t find that they would be needed to be done.…
Personal Intrinsic Motivators When intrinsic motivation is present, it can have a strong influence on an individual’s behaviour. In healthcare, this gives rise to individuals who are dedicated and passionate about their work. Manion (2011) identified five intrinsic motivators that influence professional behaviour: “healthy relationships, meaningful purpose, competence, choice and progress” (p. 297) and in this instance, all five were present. Workplace engagement is in place when the presence of these factors serves to stimulate and inspire individuals to achieve happiness in their professional lives.…
JROTC is a hands on oriented class, dedicated to pushing cadets to a new standard of living. One day every week cadets participate in Physical Training. Physical Training, otherwise known as PT, is dedicated to training cadets in physical and emotional leadership by providing a challenging experience at exercise and bodybuilding. Outside of PT cadets study on what it truly means to be a leader by studying leadership examples and the core abilities leaders have. Cadets also practice being leaders in class as the class is divided into four squads; squads are divided up into two teams, Alpha and Bravo teams.…
The mission of JROTC is very simple to explain. The mission of JROTC is to motivate young people to become better citizens. If you don’t know what motivate or mission is then you are in for a rude awakening. Motivate is to provide a need or purpose which causes a person to want to do something. You can’t just command someone to do something and expect them to do it.…
JROTC is a program designed to benefit many people in all different branches. Such as the Army JROTC, which officially started with the passage of the National Defense Act of 1916. Under the provisions of the Act, high schools were authorized the loan of federal military equipment and the assignment of active duty military personnel as instructors. In 1964, the Vitalization Act opened JROTC up to the other services and replaced most…
Although JROTC became a lot more about service and creating good citizens in 1964 when the vitalization act was passed. This act also replaced most active duty JROTC instructors with retired Army members. They didn’t focus a lot on helping the community and such. For instance presently we do Junior Achievement, which helps us connect with the youth of our generation and get more…
100 years of JROTC: yesterday, today, and tomorrow We learn from our past to prepare for the future while using that knowledge in everyday life. JROTC was first established in 1916 in Leavenworth High School. Since then proud supporting schools of the jrotc program have taught us core values, teamwork, and the ability to suceed even when all odds were stacked against us. For the past 100 years we as a JROTC program have used the tools taught to us to support our nieghbors and our communities. As the times and the circumstances have changed our program has adapted.…

I want to attend the AIM program to understand what the United States Coast Guard Academy is, what they do and how they do things. I want to get the chance to experience what the Cadets at the Academy do every day and the challenges they face to become officers in the Coast Guard. I want to know and understand what it takes to get accepted in the United States Coast Guard Academy. My expectations for the one-week program are to experience military discipline, to be pushed hard, mentally and physically and to get the opportunity to ask questions.…
Dear Parents and Guardians of SJMS Cadets, St. John’s Military School is a unique school. We pride ourselves in our ability to offer unique opportunities to our cadets. One of our most important priorities is for each cadet to realize his own potential. For some, success is achieved quickly. For others, realizing a sense of accomplishment is a longer process.…
Therefore, JROTC would help greatly with this because it would motivate to maintain decent grades and become a better student. Another way it would help is that it teaches discipline, being disciplined would help to be an exceptional student. Another goal I hope to achieve in the next five years is to become a better leader.…

This past summer I set out to finish a goal I set many years beforehand. I began scouts in 1st grade, and since the beginning I set my goal to achieve the highest rank in scouting, the eagle scout award. This rank is the most difficult to achieve, but also the most respected in the scouting program. Becoming an eagle scout is a true symbol of a boy finally growing into a man. Before a scout can even start on this great task, they must obtain all of the other ranks before it.…
Motivation Best Practices Robison (2008) explained that just as a Buddhist believes there exists as many paths as there are seekers when it comes to enlightenment, the same is true when attempting to achieve employee engagement and motivation. Organizational leaders may want to see a single, well-defined, predictable path which will result in increased employee motivation and engagement levels; however, such a path does not exist (Robison, 2008). Positive results have be seen through the application/implementation of several, often times very differing, techniques, initiatives, and management/leadership styles (Robison, 2008). The purpose of this paper is to present JKD Technical Solutions, Inc. leadership with a number of best practices in motivation and employee engagement which can be implemented within the company to increase motivation and engagement levels.…
The first statement that was given for the mini essay is to make use and explains more of relevant examples. One of the goals that were written on top of the essay draft is to try to include as much examples as possible, possibly at least one in every paragraph. In order to simplify the question to make it easier to analyze and to make use of examples, the ‘new graduates’ in the essay were explained as people in generation Y or Millennial generation. The second paragraph of the essay is a paragraph explaining the characteristics of generation Y people, which helps enable in depth research of the theories later in the essay.…
