Among them are; Civil Rights, Corporate and Securities, Criminal, Education, Employment and labor, Environmental and Natural Resources, Family and Juvenile, Health, Immigration, Intellectual Property, International, Real Estate, Sports and Entertainment, and, Tax. (Fields of Law). Usually a lawyer only picks one, sometimes two fields (or branches) to focus on. There are tons of qualities and skills that make a ‘good’ lawyer. Among are the things such as Analytical skills to help resolve clients issues by being able to analyze a large amount of information. To be able to act with discretion and be able to observe attorney-client privileges. Problem solving and research skills, to help you when you come up against something that will take time, effort, and brainpower to overcome. Speaking and writing skills are probably without a doubt the most important skills a lawyer can possess, as a lawyer you must be able to speak with knowledge of the case matter you are prosecuting or defending, and/or you are able to speak clearly and effectively on behalf of their client to a judge and/or jury. Writing is especially important to lawyers when it comes to being clear, precise, and clean when preparing documents such as a will or a trust. (Top 10 Qualities). Many of these traits I see in myself, this only strengthens my appeal to to this particular career.
