My Passion For Research Paper

Improved Essays
I have never had the passion of reading. When I was younger my mom would always read me a short story before bed time. As a toddler, I would try reading to my mom and make up little stories of my own. Growing up, I was diagnosed at an early age with ADHD (Attention Deficit/ Hyperactivity Disorder). When I was not on medication, consecrating on homework or class work was always a challenge for me. Reading and writing has never been a passion of mine. The only time I would read a book or a novel was when I was told to do so by a teacher in grade school or when my parents would punish me. I have always struggled with reading and writing. Growing up, I realized that reading had a lot to do with communicating with individuals and also writing essays.

The desire to experience satisfaction is one that is felt by almost everyone. We seek to find enjoyment in our lives through partaking in various activities that interest or fascinate us, as doing what we love allows us to have more excitement and refreshment in our lives. Life would become quite boring and monotonous if we did not have anything that brought us satisfaction. The way one experiences satisfaction in their life, however, might not always be the same; people may have a change in the things that interest them. As is seen by the speaker’s experiences with the river in the short story, “Two Ways of Seeing a River”, and my experiences with reading in my own life, this change could spawn because of a number of reasons.…

As Vargas Llosa stated in his essay, in the world we live today, most people dedicate little to no time to literature. However, I am one of the exceptions, as I have, for the longest time, been an avid reader and a persistent writer. As for researcher, well, my story for that one is very different. For starters, I believe that to understand my passion for literature, I have to explain my background a bit.…

Reading has never been my calling, and I tended to become bored too quickly and move on to something more entertaining. From a family of five with one brother four years older than me and a sister six years older than me, I was always compared to my older siblings. My sister always read, she could never put down a book, as for my brother and I, we were not as excited to read as she appeared to be. Over time the level in which I was supposed to read at, and the level I did read at grew far apart. I was never the greatest reader growing up, struggling to read out loud in class.…

Throughout my elementary and middle school career, I hated reading and writing. I found writing to be a chore and reading to be overall boring, especially when I had to read an assigned piece of literature. I went to a private catholic school from kindergarten to eighth grade and received a very mediocre education especially when it comes to literature. I think my hate for reading and writing stemmed from my lack of literary sponsors in my early years of development. My views on literacy drastically changed during my early years of highschool due to the few literary sponsors I gained.…

My reason behind taking this photo came from my passion for creating art. Art often puts me in a feel-good mood no matter what I may be going through, and that includes photography. Ever since I was a little, I loved to draw. It wasn't the final drawing or masterpiece that I loved, it was the process of drawing. I began my journey of an artist many years ago in hopes of one day becoming an animator for Pixar studios.…

What does it mean to be passionate about something? Passion implies feelings and dedication. It means that you love to do something and you don't consider that spending your free time that way is overdoing it. In fact, you're so focused at what you're passionate about that you find a way to squeeze it in your schedule and you almost forget about the world around you while you're at it. To have a passion means to surrender, to offer yourself fully in order to accomplish that thing, to be hooked on the idea and offer complete devotion to it……

“Who has read a Harry Potter book by J. K. Rowling?” My Seventh grade language arts teacher Ms. Edwards would ask the class. Most of the students would raise their hands. Some with glee as they read the whole series, others having only read one, maybe two books simply raised their hands. There I was, not raising my hand and feeling embarrassed, feeling like I didn 't belong like I was an outsider for not reading a book.…

More so in my past, reading and writing was a huge thing for me. During middle school and my first two years in high school, I was on a reading and writing rampage. Even though I had access to book and other resources before middle school, middle school was when I really started to entertain the idea of reading. I became a library media assistant in middle school and that opened up a whole new world to me. Initially, I became one because I was bored and needed something else to do besides go to school and back home.…

Writing did not come naturally for me as it did for other students, who could write within minutes and the piece was established as well said or a great explanation. I often dote on how many others have it so easy, while I spend my time struggling to write a few sentences that make sense to the reader. When I do write for school papers, my intent, like many others, is to follow the entire rubric, to make sure all that I have fits the prompt as I strive for good grades. When I was little and even now having good grades is not only essential to me, but important to my parents as well. My style of writing is hard to understand and many times I received criticism about my phrasing, an example of that being it was“awkward to follow.”…

Writing is one of the things that comes easy for me, but I feel that my real weakness stems from not wanting to read. Although, for the few books that I’ve read in my life, I did enjoy the reading in most cases after I got started.
