The Trampoline It was September 2005, I just woke up and we just got a new trampoline. I was so excited to go play on it, but I had school for just about two days until the weekend. Once the weekend came we all played on the trampoline, and when I say all I mean my brother and six to seven other friends. A few weeks after we bought it one of my friends little brother wanted to play on the trampoline, so I said sure go ahead.…
When we look around us we do not even think about it, we check both ways before crossing the street, we admire the sunset early in the morning, or we read a book. But, we never think about how we see things, how does what we see get translated into things that we can understand? It starts in the retina, where the receptor cells are. There are two types of receptor cells, rods and cones, both are only sensitive to visible light. Rods are chiefly responsible for night vision and respond to only varying intensities of light and dark.…
The time my son had a seizure in Walmart. He was one years old at the time. I was there with a friend shopping and everything seemed find till it was time to check out. While at the check-out line, my son was sitting in the cart laughing at the lady behind us in line. The lady and I had exchanged a few words.…
“Tuck and roll” that’s what they say when jumping off or out of a moving vehicle but that didn’t work for me. I was about five years old, I was visiting my grandparents that I hadn’t seen in a while. I was riding with my dad on a four wheeler and I was having fun until I felt the four wheeler jump, and then I turned around to see my dad jumping off. That was when I got scared. I tried to drive it, but with my family, chasing and yelling for me to jump off it was hard to do.…
BEEP, BEEEEP, BEEEP!!!!!! My clock goes off. My dad walks into my room to tell me we are leaving for Wisconsin Dells. As dad tells me I said, ¨Oh ok, pack my stuff, I am going back to bed. He left the room.…
That was the day we both had regretted taking what we had found. Between living in the country and being a freshman in high-school living 5 miles away from town there was not much to do for a 15 year old with no ride. During the summer heat I would usually ne staying inside with the A/C on blast in comfort. But during one of those summer weeks I had a few friends over, which just spread out the boredom between us all equally. We decided to take turns riding double tearing up and down the gravel back country roads.…
Kings Island One day in the Summer, I went to Kings Island with my friends. We went on many rides and finally came to the Vortex. I had never been on the Vortex before because this was the first time we had come since I was tall enough. My friends had already ridden it before because they were tall enough. My friend Ryleigh said,” Come on Olivia, it will be fun.”…
I woke with a start at the obnoxious noise coming from my alarm. It was 9:00 a.m. on a Thursday, in the middle of the summer. Today, I was going to my favorite place in the world: the Tulsa State Fair. I dragged myself down the creaking stairs and into the family room, where I turned on the television. I then ate a bowl of cocoa puffs and went back upstairs to prepare myself for the day.…
When I was 5 years old something that I tried new was riding a horse I was not used to it because by this time i knew how to ride 4 wheelers etc ;by myself so i was thinking how hard could it be. My first time on i was gonna ride by myself ,but when i stepped on the horse took of and started running in circles. Scared, I held on with the hardest grip i could I knew I needed to jump off as I was hanging by the saddle. Soon I let go and went flying as I forcefully hit the side of the wooden barn. I had felt like giving up but when my mother asked if i wanted to ride again I knew i had to lean and that made me want to try harder.…

Exhilarating: a term making one feel very happy, animated, or elated, would be the perfect word to describe what the day had in store for us eager, and jubilant grade 6 students. A thrilled and luminous smile lit up on my enthusiastic face as I ambled on the same rugged, cracked, gray tinted sidewalk that I had sauntered on everyday for a year. The serene, endless sky was the perfect shade of aqua as the light, silky, radiant clouds formed delicate shapes. The sun was glistening with great luminosity. Suddenly I heard someone screaming my name well not really; it was my nickname, one that really agitated me in an incredibly obnoxious way, “Babikathu wait up”.…
BEEP BEEP BEEP! My alarm clock goes off on a Monday morning at 4 am. The excitement wakes me right up, and I sprung out of bed. I rushed into the shower because I had to be ready by 5:15. After getting dressed and packing my things for a 8 hour trip, there and back to Sandusky, Ohio.…
Ghost Train Ride Kaylyn Roper Last year when I was seven I had the scariest experience. We went trick or treating at the Audubon zoo. I saw a sign for a train ride I wanted to go on it so we joined the long line.…
Technology Autobiography During my life time I used a lot of technology and a there has also been a huge advancement in technology over the past two decades. For example computers were created and modernized to fit its growing consumer base, this consumer base including me and my friends. I have used computer since a very young age, learning stuff from my dad since a very young age as well, my dad worked fixing computer for my younger years, and it was always interesting how he got rid of viruses. Adobe Photoshop 5.5 was released in 1999 which I was learning last year in Ms. Stanton’s class.…
Fearnot-Narrative Fear can ruin your life. Fear is just a mentality. Fear can mean different things to people, it can be the difference between someone not exactly loving spiders, and not hating them and someone having a meltdown every time they see a spider. For some people, a fear can be so stressful and life-crippling that they’ll try anything in their power to avoid their fear even if it means staying at home for days at a time. Fear has the power to prevent people from experiencing the joys of life and the best way to lose a fear is to expose yourself to your fear.…
