: Is Greed Worth it?
In No Country for Old Men, Cormac McCarthy’s book explains the problem of greed; all through the book we mainly follow main character Llewellyn Moss. Who finds himself in a pretty scary place. He found a bag filled with millions of dollars of drug money and many people are hunting for him, to collect that money. He is running for his life for a great deal of the book. All of which is because Llewellyn loved the power of money. The idea of the power of money and its limitations is scattered throughout the book.

Even a while later when the boy David was asked, he claimed to not have known the face of Chigurh. It may have remembered Chigurh face but he received the money, so he will follow his word. "You aint goin to help me are you? I done told you all I know to tell." (290, McCarthy) Then when Bell questioned the boy without the money the real story spilled. “He said that we didn’t know what he looked like. He give David a hundred dollar bill." The boy kept to his morals saying "I learned somthin from it" (293, McCarthy) and that he cannot say if David learned anything from this experience. While the other teenage told the truth about the accident; David proves whether he knows it or not, the power of money helped kept his silence.
The taxi driver (Paul,) was even tempted by greed. He was willing to do several things for the promise of money. "Do you want to make some money? Yeah I want to make some money."(206, McCarthy) As long as Paul wasn't chancing jail time, he would risk doing business with people like Moss."I like money but I like stayin out of jail even better."
