Non Trespassing Case Study

On 11/28/16 an approximately 20:52, while on patrol with Sgt. Hale, I, Officer Rivera Ayala, observed a vehicle described as 2014 red Ford F150 Reg. 238T397, driving eastbound on West Corbin rd, in a Non Trespassing zone. I activated my emergency lights and proceeded to conduct a traffic stop at the same location, out of the Non Trespassing zone.
Sgt. Hale, made contact with the driver, later identified as Wesley P. Martin, MW, DOB 01/26/1998. Along with Martin, there was two more passengers, later identified as Liam T. Metcalf, MW,DOB 09/01/1999 and Mickey M Marrujo, FW, DOB 05/31/1999. Martin stated that they just got out of church and decided to grab some drinks at Hit N’ Run and drive over the Non Trespassing zone to see what was there. Martin was asked to step out of the vehicle, and advised of the crime that was being committed. Martin, Metcalf and Marrujo, were being complainant.
Martin gave consent to search his vehicle. During the search, the following items were found:
• Opened bottle of UV Vodka
• Lieutenant Police Badge
• BB gun
Martin stated that he shares the truck with his cousin, and the cousin had drove the car recently, so he (Martin) believe that that’s where that bottle came from. Martin stated that his grandfather is a retired Police Officer and that’s who the badge belongs

Martin was given a verbal warning for trespassing. The bottle of Vodka was taken away from him along with the Police Badge. Martin was advised to tell his grandfather to come by the Bethalto Police Station to get his badge back. Martin was able to keep his BB gun and told to put it in a secured area. We made several attempts to contact the juveniles parents (Metcalf, Marrujo), obtaining negative results. Later that night Metcalf’s mother, identified as Bethany Metcalf DOB 07/10/1968, called the Police Station and was advised of the events. Nothing
