A study was able to identify major problems that would arise from Adderall toxicity when they examined 3 dogs that ingested large amounts of Adderall. It was identified that clinical signs of overdose of Adderall in human include hyperthermia, tachycardia, tachypnea, mydriasis, tremors, and seizures. These can lead to permanent issues if not treated properly and in timely manner. The study states that “in humans, death from amphetamine has been recorded with as low a dose as 1.5 mg/kg” (Fitzgerald, K. T., & Bronstein, A. C., 2013). All of the clinical sign listed above can have permanent damage if not fatal outcomes. This is more likely to happen to those who use Adderall for nonmedical purposes.
