The damage-control, program for Olive Garden were not in place. The management or marketing team had never projected a situation of this nature. Since this was unprecedented the management team was unsure about the steps they need to take, and the they did not want to be on any particular side, in which would have affect their clientele.
4. I would not agree, with Kendra Wilkinson’s statement that Olive Garden, could afford to be edgy. Olive Garden is based on its superior food, price and atmosphere also with the relationships that are built with customers. The restaurant’s reputation is at stake, long-term customers would not agree with the edginess. Customers share and create family memories there, but adding edginess would interrupt the atmosphere within Olive Garden.
5. If I were a part of the public relations agency team, as soon as I became aware of Kendra Wilkinson’s mention of Olive Garden in the program “The Girls Next Door”, I would call her personally and thank her for the mention of the restaurant during the program. I would communicate with her that, the management team of Olive Garden is honored, but Olive Garden anticipates living up to its mission, which is being a friendly place for family to dine
