Based on Dr. Carl’s studies in “The Orca Connection” it is said that “Orca whales grow up to 20ft long and weighs about 10,000 pounds.” These mammals are one of the largest mammals in the pyramid and what many of us do not understand is that orcas are one of the top predators on the food pyramid. We get so busy looking at our own species that we often forget about the rest of the world and what the earth needs to survive and what other species need to be able to build and populate. It’s a food chain reaction; it’s a cycle that these animals and we go through. We are all linked together like a spider web, if one side of the spider wed goes down or breaks the whole thing loses balance and no longer can hold. The solution to this problem starts with us. With all our technology we are polluting their homes and their foods. They are threaten by the high level of toxic, what we can do is ensure that they have a safe habitat by driving less, choosing cars with alternated fuel and petitioning our governments to increase rules on factories that are polluting the environment. Making sure that the orcas is getting their food. It starts with seals because they have to get their food from the dam that the salmons go through. If the seals do not get their food it affects the food chains, if the seals don’t get their food they can starve and die that lowers the …show more content…
Soon we will have to grow our own mammals in a lab or face bigger problems. “Like canaries in a coalmine, they are showing us that something is seriously wrong and that we need to take action before they disappear forever!.” (pg4) If we do not care for these mammals that are going endangered we can eliminate them forever and end up alone in this planet. Taking actions to save these mammals will be a challenge because of how much they are involved into our world as food and entertainments but that does not mean it is the end to save these endangered mammals. This environment is as much our home as in theirs. They do no harms to ours so why are we doing it to theirs? It should be a question that needs to be ask, these mammals deserves as much rights as the human race do. If they end up killing and taking us into their entertainments we would be in the same situation. This should be a wakeup call to mankind. Sometimes when we take thing for granted we don’t realize how important they play a part in our lives or environment until we are left with nothing but our kinds. Global warming is a serious problem that the governments seem to be throwing around and it is one of the biggest effects to these mammals and soon ours. Companies have also been spilling oils into the sea of these mammals home, they do not take
