To calculate the most accurate BMR for Steve, you must use the equation:
BMR = 66 + (6.23 x weight in pounds) + (12.7 x height in inches) - (6.8 x age in year).
He is 178 pounds and 6 feet tall.
BMR = 66 + (6.23 x 178) + (12.7 x 72) - (6.8 x 27) = 1905.74
To calculate his DCR, I must multiply his BMR with how much he exercises which is moderate:
BMR x 1.55 = 2953.9
Steve’s Target Heart Rate:
((Max heart rate - resting heart rate) x Percentage of intensity) + resting heart rate
220 - 27 = 193
193 - 60 = 133
(I would need Steve’s intensity to be able to calculate his maximum heart rate)
133 x .70 + 60 = 153.1 bpm

Supplements aren’t enough, and surely aren’t an alternative source for food. Steve will need to eat lean meats and avoid all of the red stuff. Green vegetables are a very good source, also fruits. Replacing white rice with brown rice is smarter because brown rice has less calories per serving, has more potassium, etc. I recommend chicken every Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Tuesday’s and Thursday’s can have fish in his diet. The weekends can be used as a cheat weekend. BUT THAT DOES NOT MEAN EATING JUNK FOOD OR FAST FOOD. Go out to a bakery or even a butcher to obtain meats to cook at home. You should not eat any processed
