The hesiod story Pandora and the Genesis story of Adam of eve have similar traits using 'The Fall' and the 'Female Principle' theme, while The Hopi Creation Story myth ‘Female Principle’ is different from them both. The Greek myth of Pandora from Hesiod is a well known myth. The myth is about Prometheus the son of Zeus, stealing the secret of fire and offering it to humanity. Zeus became furious about Prometheus act and punish him to everlasting pain from a bird picking his stomach for eternity. Zeus then decided to punish society by ordering Athena and Hephaestus to create the first women, and create her with seductive traits. With this women, Zeus made her curious and made her carry a box that is known as the 'Pandora Box'. The curiosity …show more content…
God seen how Adam looked lonely and didn't want him to be, in that case God created a partner for Adam, named Eve which became the first women. God later on insists that they can eat from any tree in the garden of Eden where they reside, but not one specific tree. Adam and Eve understood what they have been told. When Eve was alone, a snake appeared and told her to eat the fruit from the forbidden tree. She took the fruit and shared it with adam who was hesitant at first because God told them if they would eat the fruit they will die. Eve was told by the snake that who ever eats the fruit will obtain knowledge. She was curious to find out so she persuade Adam to eat the fruit with her. The fall theme can be defined as how we ended up in our current condition. In Pandora's Myth the 'Fall theme' would be identified when The first women who was given the name 'Pandora' open the box that was given to her during the creation by the gods to punish mankind. This resulted into evil, and diseases to enter the world. We currently live in a world full of good but also evil and newly formed and existing disease. In the genesis, Adam & Eve myth, The Fall theme, would be viewed when eve went against God will and ate the forbidden fruit and offered it to Adam. This lead to women going through pain at birth and brought sin into the world. Currently many women think having kids is a blessing but going through labor is a curse. Additionally, sin is one of the most common things this world had and continue to encounter. 'The Fall' theme of these both myths are similar. Both of the myths speak of the creation of types of evil, and sins being brought in to the world as a punishment to mankind and these evil and sins still exists up to this
