My poster demonstrates some examples of parabolas found in the real world. Parabolas can be used to graph the growth and decline of data and the path of an object, but can also be found in art and throughout history. My poster demonstrates some areas in which parabolas can be found within the Arc de Triomphe. Many paintings also include parabolas and the artist's’ knowledge of graphing the parabola can help draw multiple similar parabolas to the same scale. In sculptures, the curves and edges can be graphed and found throughout the structure. Throughout history there have been parabolas and arcs included in historical architecture such as the Pont du Gard and the Bridge of Sighs.
