The Passion project is a project that Honor Allied Biology students have to research a career or a disease that they want to do and gain more knowledge about. I choose Pediatrician for this project because I really love to work with kids and this is one of the kind of doctor that I want to be when I grow up ( I get to gain more knowledge about this career). I feel that working with kids are very fascinated and they are really innocent and honest(carefree). Kids have a more creative mind and doesn't have any society influence input through there minds. You are able to see the growth of the kids and the confidences that they gain. My career choices (pediatrician) links to my interest towards the kids ,growth/development, and being a doctor. They manage a child physical, mental, emotional in every stage of development. A pediatrician help ease the difficulties of children and adolescences with chronic conditions and prevent behavioral difficulties development disorders, functional problem, social stress depression or anxiety problem. Pediatrician are trained to diagnose and treat a broad range of childhood illnesses and diseases. They also diagnose and treat infections, injuries, genetic defects, and malignancies.When pediatrician give out treatments, they must know general medical treatment that might/will affect the kids development. Pediatricians give physical exam, immunization, help meet development milestones, give helpful information, and answer questions. A pediatrician are there to foster a healthy lifestyle for the kids.The children’s will visit a pediatrician many times from birth to 2 years old and then annually visit when they are from age 2-5. When they are 5-21 year old they have yearly visit to the pediatrician. When the children visit the pediatrician, they will check growth and development of the children to see if the children are growing and developing …show more content…
After earning his/her medical degree, he/she must complete a postgraduate residency program in pediatrics to be able to take the American Board of Pediatrics certification exam and become a board-certified pediatrician. To be accept to a recognized medical or osteopathic school, the candidate must have a Bachelor degree from college. In college, they have to take must complete a full year of coursework in each subjects: biology, general chemistry, organic chemistry, physics, mathematics and English. A candidate for American Board of Pediatrics certification must complete a three-year residency program in pediatrics that is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME). For the licensure, Candidates for the American Board of Pediatrics certification examination must first pass the licensing exams in at least one state. In Lake Havasu High School, there are 3 classes that relates to Pediatrician is the Preschool/Childhood class, Allied Health class(any sciences class), and Fitness Wellness
