Percy Jackson And Perseus Change

The modernization of “Dianus, Perseus, and the Gordon” to Percy Jackson and the Olympians the Lightning Thief by Rick Riordan, has changed a lot from the original story to the book; the areas that are modernized are the events, character types, and themes.

First let's talk about how the events have modernized. In the original story Perseus and his mother live on “The island of Seriphus”Dianus, Perseus, and the Gordon, page 5.with a fisherman named Diktys. He's the son of Zeus. Percy Jackson is a twelve year old boy who lives with his mother sally and his father is poseidon: God of the seas. Both of the characters journeys ares Quest and return. They ways these change over time is that Perseus is sent off on a quest to kill Medusa and slay a sea monster and in the end Perseus returns home to his mother on the island.The way this modernized is that percy is

and he must return it before the summer solstice and at some point during his quest he does run into medusa and does kill her by chopping off her head and also he kills a sea monster too. The way this is different is because in the original story medusa's complete lower half was the tail of the snake and she had snakes for hair and in the original story and in the book Medusa has a human body but still has snakes for hair. Now the modernization of the character types and archetypes. Both the original story Perseus and the book Percy fit the perfect hero type. In the original story Perseus leaves his home to kill a monster to prevent his mother getting forced into marriage and this shows that he is willing to do anything to help other even if it means putting his life on the line.
