In Percy Jackson and the lightening thief, after Zeus defeated his father Cronus and the Titans, he and the Olympian gods became the power of Greece. After playing a very powerful role in Greece, the Olympian gods decided to take their powers to America. Now, Olympus is located on the 600th floor of the Empire State Building, and the gate to the Underworld is located in Los Angeles. Poseidon, one of the Olympian gods has an affair with a human. Meet Percy Jackson, a half-blood. He’s half-human and half-god. In the beginning Percy doesn’t know what’s wrong with him, but later he finds out when he is taken to Camp Half-Blood in New York, a camp for half-blooded kids like himself. While Percy is at camp, he learns more information about himself, he learns that his father is Poseidon, god of the Sea and his uncles are Zeus and Hades. …show more content…
As Poseidon’s son, Percy sets out on a quest to retrieve Zeus’s master bolt, which he believes that his Uncle Hades’ has kept it captive in the underworld. On his quest to the Underworld, he’s accompanied by Grover, his best friend, and Annabeth, a demi-goddess and daughter of Athena. Once they reach the Underworld, Percy finds that Hades does not have the lightning bolt and Hades is missing his own power, the helm of darkness.
