Perseverance and natural ability to any certain activity is a greatly disputed subject. Does the perseverance to stay and work on skills to improve overall achievement overcome a person's natural ability to do the same skill? Can one who can naturally act get the part that another person has worked many hours for? Perseverance to achieve a goal overcomes any natural ability because a natural ability can only go so far. For example, Two students audition for roles in a summer theater. Both of these students are rejected but one who is talented believes he can get a lead in the fall play at his school and gives up. The other ,who is slightly less talented, asks to have an unpaid internship so that way he can learn and volunteers for the season. …show more content…
The boy that gives up and hopes to get the lead in the school play shows that he does not take theater seriously. Perseverance builds a grand reputation and dedication in this example. Another example of why perseverance overcomes natural ability is the humbleness that the boy with perseverance holds. The boy who has asked to be an unpaid intern displays humbleness so that way he can become better at acting. The boy who gives up and leaves to work a summer job does not hold the same humbleness and acts as though he is too good for the part. The boy with perseverance gains much respect from the staff by being humble. One last example of why perseverance overcomes natural ability is the lessons that are taught. While a boy with the natural ability to act may capture leading roles, the boy that has worked for the part will have success. As the boy that holds natural skills produces the same results without further progression, the latter has worked to develop many skills and lessons to make him better on stage. The boy with natural ability may be able to sing and dance but the boy who was taught can learn the many tricks that delight the audience while singing and dancing. These lessons oftentimes make the boy or girl who has perseverance better at what they

In the other hand, fixed mindset people think otherwise, for example, they think that people are born with a certain amount of intelligence and you become successful because they were born smart. I do not assume in any way that success comes from innate talent, I know that success comes from the ability to succeed by knowing that you are not born with a certain amount of intelligence. It develops with the effort you put in, furthermore, people become better every time you do fail at something because failure is a motivation to keep trying.…
