(MIP-1) Life for refugees is very hard and they see many terrible things that are shown both in the book and in real life. (SIP-A) The book’s conflicts are much like real life problems the refugees face in many ways. (STEWE-1) For example we see from a real article that “At the age of 12, Juma Khan has the face of a boy, but the wary presence of a grown man who has known more than his share of hard times” (Cheney, Peter). (STEWE-2) This is similar with the book Under the Persimmon Tree when Haroon says (talking about Najmah when she is dressed as a boy) "No doubt he has seen terrible things” (Staples 188).
