I put on my glasses. I make a habit of closely studying everyone I meet, and that was just what I did. She carefully removed her jean jacket. Odd, she also enjoys wearing jackets in the blistering Philippine heat. She kept her earphones on. I was then aware that my similar brand of headphones were strapped around my neck. Guess she’s not too keen on making conversation. Her long black hair hang on each side of her face. I smiled. I always liked long black hair. She notices me staring and smiles. Panic! I exchange a quick smile before I quickly avert my gaze to something else. I continue to stare off into god knows where before I decide that it’s safe to study her again. I did this for the next thirty minutes before my brain and heart decided that I had fallen completely, woefully, and dangerously in love with the girl sitting across me.
Fast forward to the break-up. Fast forward to the cataclysmic, extinction level meteor that bursts straight through my happy blue skies and turns my world asunder. I knew break-ups happened and I knew that not everything lasted forever and had a happy ending. She promised me the world and I took her word for it. I took what she said to heart and was completely enthralled by her, only to be whisked away from dreamland by her own
