After all the years training I experienced a day no athlete wants to experience. I was having a pretty good game. But then I remember falling and agressivly screaming for help. I was stunned for a while and I felt as if the world stopped for a minute. I looked at my leg and it was twisted in the opposite direction as if I broke it. I couldn’t believe my own eyes. I was getting so anctious as if my heart was about to jump out of my body.
My coaches and mom both sprinted over to me but they didn't know what it was. I was taken to the hospital in an ambulance where I was diagnosed with a dislocated patella.
At this point, I was in extreme pain and my entire body was tingling. I remember looking at the trains painted on the ceiling of the emergency

This story begins on a hot, summer Sunday on a neighborhood playground in Ponte Vedra Beach Florida when I was a kindergartener. The playground had one item that I liked the most which was a thing that you would hold onto then someone would push you across ten feet while your feet were hanging down. My dad came up to push me and might have pushed me a little too hard. When I got to the end of the line there was a rubber block that stops you very abruptly. Due to inertia, I was flung off of the handle over the rail, then did some crazy acrobatics in the air, Finally I landed right on top of my left wrist.…

I crept down the tree and for some reason I jumped about five feet out of the tree into the tall grass. Suddenly as soon as I landed a sharp, bee sting like, shooting pain was in my right hand; I went down like a fly. When I flipped my foot over the bottom of my foot had blood seeping from it, with the gash being about an inch long. My mind was going about 3,000 miles an hour, all I could think about was getting to the house to clean my foot up. My sunburn lines between my shorts and socks symbolized the restless, tiring hours spent out on the field. Every Tuesday and Thursday, for two and a half hours, the sun scorched my body while my legs would scrape into the ground. While this exhaustion enthralled and encouraged my game, the sprints, planks, runs, and more caused me to dread going to that grassy field every week. The humidity produced heavy, useless pants from my lungs as my throat would feel as if it was closing in from a claustrophobic nightmare.…
