Thomas Aquinas. One of my best friends in the whole world is Shaela. Interestingly,
her mother is my father’s sister, which makes us first cousins. Within four months
after our lovely cousin Arwen was born, I was born, and four months after that
Shaela was born. Because we are so close, Shaela and I can be discovered spending
a good portion of our free time together no matter where we might be. Brightening
my dreary day is something she specializes in.

Because of her nurturing nature,
Shaela is always willing to offer her help. Around the Bible school time at my
church, she graciously gives of her time and volunteers as a crew leader, which in
fact, comes with a lot of responsibility. When our friend Aidan broke his wrist while
roller-skating, she was more than willing to go to the hospital with him, but his
extraordinary friend Eli ended up going instead. Shaela is a caring friend.
Although Shaela is caring, she is also gifted when it comes to academics.
In school she is a straight A student, just like her older brother, Nolan. Recently she
was in the spelling bee, where unfortunately, she did not place. Along with the
spelling bee she is also in AP math, which allowed her to skip a math grade, and
scholastic bowl. Wonderfully, Shaela is also extremely gifted in the fine arts
department as well. Because of her knack for art, an exquisite butterfly mask she
made was published in a magazine. Playing her French horn in band and singing in
the school chorus and choirs is something that she does not only do favorably, but
