Personal Narrative: Culminating Final Reflection

Culminating Final Reflection My presentation was pretty effective in terms of getting my information and overall points across. I think the most effective part of my presentation was the organization of slides. I tried very hard to make sure the order of my presentation made sense, and that it wasn’t too overcrowded with pictures and words. One thing about my presentation that I could have improved was the preciseness of which I knew my statistics. I seriously messed up several of the facts I stated, and others I completely left out. As for the entertainment value of my presentation, I tried to not speak in a monotone and be expressive. Several aspects I could have improved upon overall are my memorization of facts, the amount of time I spent practicing my presentation, and the fact that I was under time when I presented. I learned a lot about the research process this year, probably more than I have over all my school years combined. The part of the process I probably learned the most about was the importance of citing sources. While I did learn some about that in years past, it was never really enforced as strictly as it was this year. Also, for the first …show more content…
As the year went on though, I was able to develop it until I was confident in my ability to answer it. At the beginning of the process, I wasn’t sure how much I would like my topic, but I am really glad I chose the topic I did because it has opened my eyes to so much that I never knew before. Through writing my preliminary lit review, I was able to better get a picture of the information I had gathered and how to properly organize it. This process helped me immensely when it came time to creating my powerpoint presentation. In conclusion, I have learned so much through this process, and while it was really difficult sometimes, I am now so proud to look back on my year and see the progress I’ve

After presenting and completing my visual informative speech, there were several strengths and weaknesses present throughout my speech. Some of my strengths, with respect to the content of the speech as I did my visual presentation, was that I did a good job with the introduction. The introduction involved introducing my topic and grabbing the attention of my audience. Also, I had great supporting materials and most importantly great organization of my main points. As for the delivery aspect of my speech, according to the video, I had a good posture and used my flash cards very well, which were very helpful in delivering my speech.…

The Never Ending Rollercoaster As my friends and I pass by store to store we had realized that there was a bright red flyers. For Week 5, as the one who presented, I will reflect on the presentation from the preparation, presentation and Q&A part. But I will focus on the Q&A part and analyze this experience in detail. I did not choose the topic of presentation until 4 days before it, which turned out that most interesting topics had already been chosen by my classmates. Though time was limited for me to prepare for the presentation, I felt calm and prepared my presentation in an organized way. To evaluate the preparation, the powerpoint could have been elaborated in a better way and more detailed information could have been included if I had started on the preparation early.…

I appreciate receiving constructive feedback, since this criticism is valuable for me improving from my mistakes. Recently, I had been a leader of a group with whom I had worked on developing a new soda brand, for our entry in the Coca Cola sponsored, World Series of Innovation Competition. Being leader of this team, I encouraged my team to be open and give me their best suggestions. In this process I received positive criticism for my approach in leadership, feedback that I can apply to become a better leader. My group informed me that I took too much initiative to complete the unfinished tasks of some participants, rather than encouraging them to do this work themselves.…

My experiences over the last six years living in NYC have shaped me into the approachable and compassionate person I am today. I have been immersed in a melting pot with many different culturally and economically diverse populations. These unique experiences have broadened my horizons and allowed me to gain valuable communication skills and the ability to connect with people from all walks of life. I searched out opportunities to give back and help the people in my community both in volunteering in hospitals, educating high school students, and interning in private practices. I even traveled with the organization Medlife, setting up a medical clinic to provide basic medical care and education to people in the poor and underserved communities surrounding Lima, Peru.…

As a child growing up in Rhode Island, the smallest state in the Union, the idea of a vast planet brimming with civilization and culture was more like something out of a fairy tale than it was reality. So, when my father announced that we would be leaving the country to go to Scotland, the home of his and my ancestors, my world began to expand at a rapid pace. This trip could not have been timed more perfectly. The summer of 2007 marked the end of fourth grade, my first year at Saint Mary Academy Bay View.…

We made the mistake of not checking out what computer we’d be using and what we would need to bring in order to show our power point. This hindered our delivery because we had a tough time getting started. We also failed to try and run the video used in the presentation before the actual presentation, which caused us to run a little longer than the allotted time because we had to awkwardly pause in the middle of out presentation to figure out how to play the video. Overall, our group should’ve focused on practicing and testing the equipment out and our delivery would’ve been much smoother. Our introduction was probably the best part of our speech.…

Moe I think it would be more good presentation if you had raised your face more, but it was so good that you used many gestures during the presentation, you smiled throughout the presentation, and you talked with intonations! Also, one of the Moe's slides that had only one sentence "However..." The slide was so effective and when I saw it, I took an interest in the next word. There were many effective slides. Above all, you are great that you finished all your presentations after the happening!…

Final Persuasive Speech Reflection Believe me when I say that my progress from then to now has come a long way. Initially after giving the persuasive speech, I felt that there has been little process in all of this time that I had spent trying to learn to communicate more effectively. Worst of all perhaps, I felt powerless to do anything to change this. This was my most practiced speech and it did not feel that way. Even the thought of having to go back and essentially relive those 7 minutes was not something I was particularly excited about.…

That really disappointed me that I was unable to involve the students during my lecture. Few of the junior students also felt that I should have reviewed the topic material in a clear and concise manner (approximately 87%). Due to lack of time I did rush through my content and wanted to cover all my slides. After receiving the student evaluation form I was surprised that almost 45 students out of 75 were pleased with my presentation. This really surprised me, because more than half of the class was happy with my session.…
