Personal Narrative: Dr. Kyle Mccombs

I have seen more doctors than I can count on my fingers due to my asthma acting up every now and then and at times with bad allergic reactions. However there was one doctor that has always been there for my parents and I. He of course may not be world famous yet, but to me he is the best I have ever met. I’ve known him since I was in elementary school and I still continue to see him from time to time but since he is a doctor it isn’t as often. There isn’t truly enough to say about him in any article in what I can’t say about. Ever since I have known Dr. Kyle McCombs he was always the most respectful and kindest man to everyone. He didn’t seem to mind who his patients were/are he treated every single one of them the same. Never giving any of them less attention the other. He would stay by their side until they got better, …show more content…
McCombs. There is so much more I can say about him. For example, there was a time in which he took care an older women at the hospital. He did everything he could to make her health better then when she first came, at first everything went absolutely well without any severe problems until a few days later in where she didn’t make it. He was struck with grief once he found out. I don’t remember the rest but even though the women was a stranger to him he took care of her as if she was but a mere family friend. And every time we (mainly me) have a medical issue that looks bad but not bad enough to go to the hospital we give him a call and ask him what he can make out of it. He answers immediately if he isn’t too busy and tells us what the matter is. If it is bad or if it is a minor symptom of some medicine. It is truly wonderful to see someone I have known for a long time to show such selflessness in todays society. He is truly someone in which we can rely on for anything about health issues. I am truly glad to have him as a “family member” along with his

Who wouldn’t want to be part of this enriching experience?…

By the time I received the email announcement that University of Michigan Health System diagnosed me with Acquired Dyscalculia, I felt like sinking into a bottomless glacial. Everything around me appeared as featureless hollow darkness. I heard with a chill on my back that the car accident occurred last summer was speculated to be cause. It was on way home back from Thailand, where I went to support the education at Vieng Neua Primary School as a volunteer. I was afraid, indeed, that the dyscalculia—a name that I had not heard before and a disease I was totally not familiar with—would jeopardize and ruin my study and life.…

They call them “Tap-taps,” the brightly painted open back trucks that transport passengers through the dusty streets of Haiti. A traveler taps the side of the vehicle to board, pays, rides and then taps to jump off at a desired destination. For one particular man who sat with his face covered by a towel, that destination was the Diegue clinic in Port-au-Prince. All I knew from intake was that this patient was here for a foot issue. I noticed the adult sitting uncomfortably, a towel wrapping his foot, as his eyes scanned around the room.…
