Personal Narrative Essay About Flag Football Championship

It was the big day. It was our flag football championship. Now, you may be thinking "who cares about flag football, it's not even a real sport. Yes it is. In fact, flag football games get just as intense as any other football game. It's still a contact sport too. Not to mention the fact that we are playing Olweiler in this championship game.

They are huge. Their smallest guys is about 6'1 and they are actually all players from the same real school football team. Their goal: win with no sportsmanship and never ever show respect. One the other hand, our team is about winning with dignity and showing respect to everyone...but still crush on the scoreboard too. In fact the past 4 years, we played Olweiler (which is the coaches name) in the championship. We lost every year and everyone had the sense that something was going to change.

All the other teams in the league cheered for us too.
"You ready?" I asked DJ, our QB and old neighbor as well.
"I guess so." He said
We were both very eager to go out and play hard win or lose.
1st half, we go up the field driving in 6th gear, full throttle and get 7 on the board. 7-0 and the crowd is electric. They start driving up the field and I remember that one of our guys Jerimiah, the fastest DE in the league. He subbed out unknown he'll be able to return. It was 3rd & 8 they had the ball in the red zone ready to strike.
Set... Hike!
They drop back to pass I'm back, watching the QB's eyes like a hawk.
He tries to throw it by our blitzing linebacker who tips it in the air. It felt like time stood still, the ball and the championship hanging in the balance. If it's caught it's a touchdown since no one was near besides huge slow linemen. The ball finally falls gracefully and makes contact with his hands.
"AHHHHHHHH!!!" He screamed in utter disbelief as the ball bounces off the firm grass. It was
