Today is the day, November 22, 1963, the day I finally get to see my hero, John F. Kennedy, and his wife Jackie. My mom had promised me that she would take me to witness him pass in the parade as soon as she finished the dishes. I peeled back my blinds to reveal a perfect day in Texas; the sun was shining and there wasn’t a cloud in the sky. I leaped out of my bed and went straight to my closet. I want the president to see me in my very best clothes. I slipped my very boldest plaid shirt over my head and shimmered into my slim trousers. I crept to the bathroom careful not to wake my 16 year old sister, Linda. Once in the bathroom I looked in the mirror and admired myself; my hair was going to need some major help. I slicked back my hair and made my way down the stairs. Between the time of me getting ready and fixing hair Linda had found her regular spot on the couch. “Why do you look so happy?” Linda moaned, “it’s hurting my eyes.” “As a matter of fact Linda,” I stated, “I’m going to Dealey Plaza to see our president.” “Your man crush you mean?” She laughed. “You’re such a nerd.” “At least I’m smart!” I retorted while I slipped my shoes on. “Linda, James quite being mean to each other!” My mom yelled from her room.
